Thames Kauaeranga Kahui Ako

Our Collective Vision - Lead Principal for our Community of Learners.

My first year as Lead Principal was both exciting and exhausting. There have been many positive outcomes for all stake-holders and I look forward to a full team contingent to take our success even further in 2018. We have been on this Community of Learning - Kāhui Ako journey for almost two years, finally we begin to build on our capacity using our strength of collective vision to make a positive difference in our community. I am grateful that Thames South School has embraced this new way of working and supported me to lead this innovation.

As a cluster, an opportunity to innovate in new and exciting ways, to have a significant impact on how we work together, how we improve the learning pathways of students and how we grow our collective professional practice to meet the changing landscape of education.

As a profession, a mandate to re-design and evolve our contexts, through leadership and Spirals of Inquiry. Teacher autonomy and collaboration will empower us to proactively shift mind-sets and examine current paradigms.

As school leaders, a commitment to making a greater difference to the progress and achievement of all students in and across our schools, through leadership, personal efficacy and collective action.

As a community, a seamless pathway of learning, strengthening our relationships, systems and resources to better meet the needs of every child. We will be empowered through a moral purpose to ensure equity and excellence for all.

As a student, a seamless transition from early childhood to secondary school. As a learner, teaching and learning programmes that place me at the heart of a systemic change. As a diverse learner, the CoL will be responsive to my strengths, cultural aspirations and needs.
