Te Kawenga is a total immersion te reo Māori unit that teaches students from new entrants to year 8. The Māori language is the medium of instruction for all learning areas. 

Ko te reo māori te kākahu o te whakaaro, te huarahi i te ao tūroa 

The Māori language cloaks Māori thought and provides a pathway to the wider world.
