Full Time /Permanent Kaiako 

Kura Tuatahi

We seek a kaiako who is:

Ideal applicants will demonstrate a high level of proficiency in both Te Reo Māori & English
Passionate and enthusiastic about teaching our tamariki
Able to demonstrate effective teaching practises
Able to value and actively develop positive relationships with ākonga and their whānau, staff and the wider community
Able to show commitment to our kura-wide goals of growing cultural competency through Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga.
Collaborative and willing to share their curriculum strengths and experiences with others
Committed to their own learning journey with Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga
Willing to contribute to the extracurricular activities of the kura as appropriate

We are looking for a kaiako who is able to run highly engaging learning programmes for our tamariki.  Inclusive, collaborative, empathetic and warm interpersonal skills are a requirement for this position. The successful applicant will need to be passionate about educating tamariki of all ages and be willing to be innovative and build on our collaborative teaching and learning.  Valuing and enjoying an approach to teaching and learning in which young people have a wide range of opportunities for them to reach their fullest potential, is a key part of these kaiako roles. Building strong relationships with tamariki and whānau is a necessary part of this role at our kura. 

We are happy to discuss any areas of proven leadership you may have that could attract additional leadership units and this position also comes with a Mita Allowance for the delivery of learning programmes being implemented in Te Reo Māori.

Teachers applying for a TBS vacancy must have either:

Been employed at a different school immediately prior to applying for this vacancy,
Have at least a 12-month gap since last being employed on a fixed-term or permanent employment agreement at the advertising school.
LATs and relievers currently employed at the school can be appointed to a TBS vacancy, provided they meet the eligibility criteria
